Opening a personal business? Have h1B with other company

Hello,
I have a current H1B with my current employer. I am interested in opening a company, to do consulting, and would like to know what I need to do?
This would be side projects to my current h1b, as I can offer my professional services/experience on weekends/after hours. Thanks

Not possible unless you have proper work authorization. H1 only allows you to work for an employer, you cannot get h1 for freelancing.
You will need either EAD or a green card to do what you described.
 
What other options would I have? If i open a business, and do an H1B on myself, what would be the minimum investment ($) to set up this business?
Would there be any special considerations for a 'one-man'show' consulting company?

You cannot sponsor yourself for an H1b thru your company. YOu will have to get proper work authorization.
