Opening a new office/branch

Hi, I have a question.

I have a business in Canada for over 1.5 years. I'd like to open a branch/new office in California. Do I have to incorporate in the US prior to making the petition? I already found office space. With the I-129 what else should I provide other than proof that I have been the director for more than year and that the business has made significant profit in Canada for over a year. Is the approval given for one year at first and then I need to ask for an extension? If so, what do I need to show after the first year?

Thanks

Going to do a very similar thing.. Need your Advice!

Hi Abhi

Congrats on getting approval.

I have a software development company registered as private limited firm in India way back 2001 and still operational with turnover of the tune of 250,000 USD last year.

I would like to know, if I setup a software development firm in USA (I prefer San Francisco) as an LLC, what are the chance of I getting an L1-A Visa for actively taking part in setting up and running the operation.

1) Will you be able to tell me as to what kind of turnovers your parent company (Canadian company) was making as you have shown in the application.

2) What was the amount you were showing that you will be investing in USA?

3) Did you show a business plan?

4) For how long was the approval and Visa was you got?

Please help me with these questions.

Best Regards
Jay
