Only "perm" Can Resolve Current Backlog

FOLKS, (NY,NJ who are more in the critical category for backlogs)

I have been regularly following our forum for the last one year and more. Nothing is more frustrating than the fact that the "Labor Certification" process is undergoing a serious backlog partly due to the 245(i), the Economy, Weak Labor Market & due to the formation of the New Dept. of Homeland Security.

Given these facts, the only way this backlog will be cleared in 2003 would be thru the implementation of the long awaited "PERM" ( Online & automatic Labor Certification) Program.

As per the understanding given to us by our Lawyer's the rule for the "PERM" would be published in APR'03 and may go into Use in Jul'03.

We have heard this before about "PERM", but I guess that if its not implemented, we can best forget 2003 as the 245(I) cases would continue at their own leisure pace in 2003 and regular cases might get a look into in 2004!

In anycase "WISHING ALL FOLKS A VERY HAPPY AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2003 (W/O labor pain!)"

Any Views are welcome.
