Online work in the US, but living overseas

If I get my GC and I get a job to provide IT technical support/teaching for an Online university based in Washington, then I go to South America to live there for several months (let's say 10 months/year), I would have W2 and salary in the US. Is that enough to proceed with citizenship request after five years ?

Should I be in trouble and risk losing my GC ?

Corect me if I am wrong but :
you can only work for US goverment or contractors that work for USgoverment oversees .

Also I think USCIS can provide you with that info ..

a church might work also but really not sure about it ...
i did read somewhere on the uscis website about the goverments and contractors for sure ( that includes millitary .... etc)
