My case is WAC-02-38
Attorney replied to RFE on Oct 25, 2002

Why does the online message says "you would
receive a written decision".. Is this Standard
text?

On November 15, 2002, we received your response
to our request for evidence or information.
It is taking between 975 and 999 days for
us to process this kind of case. However, because
preliminary processing was complete before we
requested the additional material, the remaining
processing time for this stage of your case is
approximately 999 days. You will receive a
written decision on this case.

Its the usual message

Infact the "written decision.." part is at the end of all messages related to AOS processing (if not for all processings).

First don't worry it's just a normal message for all those RFEReceived cases. View it in this way:
Before RFE the last part of the message is "We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made." Note that it has two parts: 1. We may send you an RFE or 2. We may send you a decision (could be Approval/Denial/Transfer etc.)

Now after receiving RFE response, since the RFE part is over the message is talking only about the remaining part (part 2). So some one (who ever came up with these messages) phrased it as "We will send you a written decision on this case" instead of "We will mail you a notice with our decision when it is made".

don't get scared. It is a standard message for all RFEs. They mean to say, 'since we have recvd all the documents that we requested, we will mail you a decision." That decision is approval. I never heard of a case being denied at 485 stage, unless your application reaches them before the priority dates are current. Good Luck

thanks!

I did search on this site and found that it is standard format
of RFE response in any type of application( I-131, I-765, I-140,
I-485)

No Idea SOW, online status doesn't give details. But this dude went thru FP, and waited since feb, to get denied.
