Online Status Changed to Interview

I replied to the RFE last month. Yesterday the status changed to
"application transferred to another INS office for them to schedule and conduct your interview. "
I was hoping for a approval after replying to the RFE and with halt being lifted. It seems I still have a long way to go. This sucks.
 
cscgc19, a lot more might be joining you. Can you tell us what the RFE was about? and were you able to reply to it 100% correctly?
 
cscgc19, even if I get my approval, I'll stay on this board to give you company till you get yours .. now cheerup.

There is a big "IF" in your case but there is no if and but in my case, I got my approval in June but see still I am here to support all fo you guys. But in fact I am also a victim of INS (don't ask me its a long story)

CheerUP cscgc19 GC is not the end of life, some other time I will tell you my story then you will say you are not the only one.
 
vipsha, I read ur story (short form) in the other thread. I tell you, nothing sucks harder than INS does. Settling in USA is a real struggle. What makes it worse is that it isn't the same struggle for everyone. On random basis they make someone's life hell, if ur the one .. god help ya.

I have never seen an organization more unjust than the INS.

rfe issued -> rfe recevied -> interview or
directly from rfe-issued -> interview ??

in my case the message changed from
975..999-> fp received , pending approval -> rfe issued -> rfe received. Still waiting after that...

also what was your rfe ? mine was EVL/ paystubs/ w2 for 1year

RFE was for the employment letter and the W-2s for the last three years. I changed my job recently. Maybe thats the reason why they have called for Interview.

Are you in san jose , CA ? because the interviews schedule is a lot quicker than SFO.
Since you seem to have a job and paustubs and the works..I am sure you will get your GC post interview as smoothly as possible.
 
I am in Union City and that comes under SFO INS. How long does it take them to schedule the interview after the status change (after sending file to local INS) ?
 
Even GOD does not know about SFO local INS office. Next is SFO INS itself but they don't know even where their AS* is, so don't expect any thing from SFO.
I think it could take between 4 to 10 months for interview schedule. There is no fix time for SFO no kidding !! SJC is far far better.

Your RFE was simple one. So I am assuming everything was alright in your case and the RFE response triggered interview. May be INS was not satisfied by the document you submitted for job change. May be the officer wanted to send someone for interview for no reason. I think it would be a formality to verify the documents. Try to have attorney present in case officer ask some trick question.

Sucks to hear that your AOS has been passed on to the interview stage, but the good news is that you are one of the first in line for the interview, there were a few threads floating around on speed of interviews in SFO, check them out to get a better picture.

But on the brighter side, you are now almost there. :) Once the interview is scheduled you have a confirmed date.
