Online Case Status "Interpretation"

I sent my N400 application on 08/28/06 and check cashed on 9/01/06. I was able to get my receipt number from the front of the cashed check. The online status was available today 09/07 and reads as follows

"Current Status:

Your N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was received on August 30, 2006. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates. "

Q1. Is everything okay with the case?
Q2. Does all case show this status before the actual receipt is received?

Am a little worried because my application was returned initially because i filled a day or two before am eligible. It was refilled a week after it was returned.

All looks all right. You will get this same message(in most cases) till your interview letter is mailed to you. At that time (in most cases), it will say your application cannot be found in the system. In my case, the important thing to follow is the "Updated date", which gives one a rough idea when the FP/interview letter is on the way. Now to get the updated dates, you need to create a uscis ID and add your case number to your portfolio.

Hi suriyan,

I am waiting for my checks to clear and for a case number to be created. Once that takes place, how do I create a USCIS ID and track my progress?
