Online appointment through vfs

Hi All,
I have made an online appointment through vfs,some time in Feb.
Do I need to send any documents (DS156,DS157,copy of passport, I129,photo,etc.) to the consulate/visa application center before actually attending the interview at the consulate?Bcoz some body has posted on this forum that these details need to be sent to consulate atleast before 5 days of the appointment date,but I don't see any mention of this either on vfs site or on Chennai Consulate site.
I couldn't reach the vfs toll free number to clarify the same.
Can some body clarify on this.Guys,who have attended the interview....pls give some info.

You need to send the documents 5 working days prior to your appointment only if you are going to Mumbai consulate, for all other consulate you don't need to send them just take it with you.
