One separate thread for this question: Do we really need to be physically in the US

for one year before filing for I-485- Application for a Green Card?

I know it says in the USCIS Website but I don't remember my attorney adising me of nothing like that.... What if I still aply even though I left the country and returned in the last year?
If somebody has experience with this,please share.
