Hi,
First and foremost thank you KD, Raju, Alren and all other seniors (short of memory can't remember the names) for all your help and maintaining this forum with your expertise and over and above all thankful to RAJIV KHANNA for operating this forum.
I started my research in this forum with a 0% knowledge about CP and all I have today is just only because of this forum. It was like everything is arranged in a plate all I need to do is to grab and eat it and I believe that's what I did it. Thanks once again to all the seniors who helped me.
Well my experience in the whole process was nothing exciting but the feeling after getting the approval was really great (full of laddooooooos).
Travel to interview:
I landed in Mumbai on 18th early moring at 3.30 AM and took a paid cab to Nepeansea Rd. from the airport it costed me Rs 300/- for Non-AC (wanted to have fresh smell of mumbai after the rain)
Checked in the Hotel Regency, took a delux room as I had wife and kid. It was not pretty big enough but good enough for three. It costed me RS 2650/- per night including buffet breakfast.
Medicals:
On 19th morning I had medical appointment at Breach Candy hospital at 7.30, was expecting less crowd but there were many people ahead of me and also some joined behind me.
Intially they gave some pink form with some carbon copies behind it to fill up the Biographic data and later they called in a number to review and submit it with a payment of RS 1800/- per head.
Blood was collected in one room and X-Ray was taken in another room and after that they gave a break of 1 hour.
Had some break fast in some reasturant which was few yards from Breach
Candy towards mahalaxmi temple.
After the break height and weight was taken. Weight really surprised me as it grew beyond expectation.
Wife was asked to stay in the same room and I was asked to go the main building for the physical check up.
I waited for 2 and half hour to get my number called and finally I was asked to sit in front of Doctor. He asked few questions like Do I have Diabetes, any operations in the past or injury, High BP and he was planning to check my heart beat mean time his cell phone rang so he gave up that part and as I mentioned I didn't have any vacination records he gave me one MMR shot which was already kept on his table. and later was asked to pay Rs 120/- for the vacination (Vac. fee Rs 70 and Doc fee Rs 50) and asked to go for physical. There was another Doctor sitting inside who asked for all clothes down and checked each and every part and tried to chat in a very cool manner and said fine go.
Was asked to collect the records at 3.00 PM the same day. Waited for wife as ladies Q was taking time. They also went through the same process but only difference it was done by a lady doctor.
Collected reports by 3.30 PM after relaxing and taking lunch at the hotel and as I reached little late as I though they may not be ready but I found I was almost one of the last few person left to collect the report as other have already collected it.
On 20th
Had enough time for getting the DD and the photos. Had good breakfast at the hotel and left for photos and DD. Went to My own Photo studio and gave him the new requirement of the Immigration photos and he asked for RS350/- per head as it was for same day delievery. Finished the photo sessiona and walked to near by Standard Charted bank and the rep told me their rules like the DD cost Rs 200 per DD and if by any chance if it need to be cancelled then it may cost RS 250 as the cancellation fee. So she suggested if have enough time then collect it from Bank of India which was very adajacent from the consulate who charge less and no problem with the reissue of DD in case if needed. It was located in the ground floor of the Skytower building one. Filled the form with lot of mistake and I was corrected and I refilled the form, at the cash counter I was rejected as I didn't have RS and had Dollars, so they asked me to go STD.Chart to get the DD as they may accept the Dollars. Went back to S-C and they also rejected me. Came back to BOI as the DD was already ready only cash problem so asked her advice so some how she found out that there is Trade wings who can exchange Dollars to Rupees in the same road to temple Mahalaxmi. Went there got the Dollars exchanged and came back to BOI and took the DD's as we were two applicants. It costed Rs150 each. Took the draft each RS15410/- (This is the only part which I didn't understand through out my readings why they have to mention the Dollar amount and the exchange rate when any ways they need DD for RS 15410)
