I think your Univ. wont let you do that....they track that stuff..don\'t they ?

why risk expulsion / deporatation for a few bucks buddy ???

If you get caught.....

that will be the end of it.

Not only you, all those involved will get royally screwed for aiding and abetting illegal activities.

You, of course, will be out on your you-know-what - never to be let back in again. Oh did I forget the possible prison term ? Imagine the pride you folks and family back home will feel when they see you being led away in hand-cuffs....after all you\'ll on TV ! A star ! You gonna enjoy the food thought...\'coz it\'ll be free...free accomodation too !

By the way, all your savings will be over in a jiffy in hiring lawyers to save your we-know-what at $100 and hour.....

Think abt it...

No Problem

There should be no problem. I personally know people who may have worked more than 20 hrs in on campus jobs like catering, kitchen etc. and have got green cards.

INS has no way to know how many hrs you worked. As long its on campus don\'t worry as long as UNIV does not worrry and its a good tiem to make money for your tuition and don\'t tell to everyone that you are working more.

Should not be a problem !

Working more than 20 hours per week should not be a problem as far as INS is concerned. Number of hours worked will not appear on W-2, so it doesn\'t matter.

No problem - until you are caught

Sad to see such misleading advises being posted...if you can\'t help, at least don\'t give the wrong ideas !

All I can say is "Careful guys" ! Yeah, maybe I am chicken...but would never do anything unauthorized....and I think the I20 says a student is authorized for upto \'20 hrs of on-campus\' work.

F1 job

I was just wondering about one thing, and I would like the person to answer seriously. What kind of trouble can a person get for working full time on campus, if this person is keeping a GPA 3.65?

DO NOT BREAK THE LAW

As per INS, you SHOULD NOT work more than 20 hours during long semesters unless you are on CPT/OPT. If you do, you are breaking the law. Whether you do that or not, is upto you.

There are loop holes in the system in the US. Be smart and locate them and use it to your favor. But I would not break the law for a few bucks. From personal experience, the extra bucks do not make much of a difference. You are here as a student. Learn to live with economic constraints. Its one of the valuable lessons you will pick up along the way.

No Title

Everything, because the basic idea why the immigration don\'t want people to work off campus, or more than 20 hours, is because the international students are suppose to be in good academic stand.

Even if you got straight A\'s (GPA 4.0) ....

which I know you can\'t, by LAW you aren\'t supposed to work more than 20 hours....

The basic idea is simple: you are let in here for your studies - period.

I am not sure why should there be any confusion on this ? All these are stated very clearly in I-20 / admission letters etc.

Great advise !

You are the only one (beside me) who isn\'t trying to mislead the folks...most here are coming up with their own interpretations and advises for breaking the law.

Stay on the right side of the law guys....things are very different these days...a simple misdemeanor could land you in serious trouble..all your American Dreams (fast cars, babes, bucks.....) will go up in a smoke in a jiffy.....
