Ombudsmans Office

I posted this in another thread, but this might be useful to more folks.

I recently wrote to the Immigration Ombudsmans office to ask for help in finding out why my security check has taken 2 years to this point. I got a letter back after 2 weeks (a form letter) stating that they had initiated a formal inquiry to the USCIS on my behalf and that I should hear something within 45 days.

The details are here:

If you are having problems with your case, it might be worth the price of a stamp...

Thank you. This is great info. I would wait for at least 3 months since interview and then send a letter to these people.

Guys, does the name check depend also on the NAtionality, or only on the odds and number of coincidences through computer interpratation of the name?

For my own part, I'm a UK citizen, and have never been in trouble with the authorities anywhere I've been on the planet... in all honestly, I think I've just been one of the unlucky ones that got lost in the system... I would have thought that, if they had had any problem with my security check, that I would have heard by now...

Heh I just read what I wrote there... maybe it's because I have been on a few places on the planet that the US government might consider 'risky' is why it's taking so long :)

Malaysia, Korea...Texas... you know how it is... :)
