Ombudsman Response !!!

Dated Sept 29th I received a response from Ombudsman saying they initiated a formal inquiry with the USCIS about my case & I should be receiving a response from USCIS (NSC) within 45 days. If not than notify Ombudsman again.
I seeked help from Ombudsman back in June while I was desparete about my GC but never received no reply. Now when I received my GC it's no longer needed no help from them. This response could have carried more meaning if I would have received this couple of months earlier but now it's useless. But good thing is atleast people who are going through case processing problems may inform Ombudsman for a formal inquiry & that may expediate processing.

I received a response from the Ombudsman's office to my inquiry which I mailed on 06/24/06 office last week. Exact same situation. Too late for me but, hopefully, will make a difference for someone walking this path after me.

Its a standard response that they are obligated to send. I know lots of H-1's who are waiting for GC's who have gotten the same thing..so dont get your hopes high..

I'm not that naive! :p Years and years of dealing with the INS will make anybody lose any kind of illusions.

Same here;
I had to send a letter 2 twice to get a response, the generic letter stated that I will hear from them in 45 days and it has been 3 months and nothing.
I think they are so overwhealmed that they will pick the worst case.

Good Luck

I made an inquiry myself over the phone and I was told that it takes from 30 to 60 days for them to reply. Looks like I am not gonna receive anything :rolleyes:

It may take quite a bit longer than that!
atique and I stopped waiting and received responses after more than 4 months. Mine, by the way, was not a generic response. I guess, better late than never. ;)
