Older version of forms filed - does this matter?

My AP is horribly delayed - well it will be just over the 60 day limit tomorrow. Sure feels like it's horribly delayed when others have been getting theirs in 3 weeks! (we have plane tickets to go to NZ so our families can meet our new baby, but that's a whole other issue!)

I noticed just today that our lawyer filed an older version of the AP form i-131. The one filed (in March 06) was last updated in 2004 (4/16/04). The latest one on the INS website was updated 10/26/05.

Does anyone know if this will matter? I looked at the two forms and they appear to be indentical. But maybe it will annoy INS enough that they have been slow in approving it?

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated!

I don't think it matters.
If I remember correctly, the updated form (10/2005) had a simple change -- the name on the top of the form was changed from INS to USCIS - the rest of the form was unchanged.

Also the present day USCIS page for I-131 clearly states that "the 4/16/04 version is also accepted"

Its being delayed for some other reason -- the form version is not causing this.

rpar03,

I applied for AP renewal in Oct 2005 and I am still waiting. The reason stated by NSC was "security review". You might have fallen into the same trap ! :-(

Thanks - at this stage who knows why it is being held up. We paid a lot of money for our lawyer, so I wanted to make sure she was doing her job well! Our plane has taken off without us, so I'm just telling everyone at work I must be a Dangerous Foreign National (afterall would you trust someone from New Zealand? ;) )
