Ok.. What to do now

Hello All!

I got my certificate September 26, this year, the next day went to the post office and applied for my passport. Then took off & visit friends in CA. I am from MI by the way!

Anyhow when i got home last night I check the online status of my passport and says that my application cannot be found at this time, or something like that.(Sounds like the USCIS site doesnt it, and I thought I am done w/ it) Its more than 2 weeks now and I am assuming it should be on thir data base by now.

My question is my application papers got lost? W/ MY ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE? huh? I applied using a regular service since my planned trip is not until late December! I tried calling theNPCI 1877 number but they are closed today and I am so nervous right now and desperately need your opinion.

I dont have any tracking number from the post office since, when I applied for it, she check all info, ask me to sign name and then she put it in her desk said, i will finish it up later...

Well guys what will I do if ever it got lost. I look at the USCIS site and it will take sometime to apply for replacement and cost 240.00.And i need to travel end of December.

I kept a photocopy of my certificate though.

Can you please advice. I though I am over w/ this worrying after my oath I guess not.

since you said they close today. I assume the post office which you visited for your passport application does not open on Saturday. You might want to go back to the post office where you applied.

did you receive ANY receipts, documentation about they (USPS) received your passport?

I am planning to apply my passport today (Saturday, still early in CA at this moment), and I wonder should I have the local chinese travel agency to make up a "travel reservation" for me so I could go to regional passport office to apply for the same day service.

to worry about USPS would lost my cert :(
 
I had applied for passport on 9/29/05 in DC area and just couple of days back the online status of passport changed from not found to "passport will be processed by 11/7/05". So just wait few more days.

did you use the normal service rather than paying extra $60?
