OK to postpone FP?

If you go to ASC with a FP notice ahead of schedule, usually they
accept it and let you do your FP. BUT if you miss the date and do not
show up on (or before) your scheduled FP date, I am afraid they will
ask you to reschedule it with INS. Which basically means you have to
send a request to INS to send you another FP notice with another date.
This whole process might take a few months.
Hence it is not advisable to postpone or reschedule your FP.
My understanding is that your husband can add your name (meaning file
for your 485) any time as long as his I485 is still pending (i.e. not
approved). It shouldn\'t matter whether he takes his FP or not. I guess
you will have to make the decision based on his ND. I would say if his
ND is before march 2001, it is risky for him to get his FP done since
his approval will be due any time. But if his ND is recent (i.e.
June/July 2001) then he can get his FP done and file for your I485
later/simultaneously.

How to know whether my employer has applied my I-485 or not?
Hello gurus,
Its been 4 months since my employer applied for my I-485 , i haven\'t received any information regarding the same from INS or my employer. Actually after 2 months , INS sent back the complete packet to me becas of insufficient documentation ( I-140 Copies were not enclosed). Later my employer said , he enclosed i-140 copies and mailed it back to INS. Since then we haven\'t heard anything about my application. How do i find out if my application is being processed at all or my employer is fooling me around?
