Not clear,if this is for new applicants or old applicants as well.
I guess this should be applicable for old concurrent filers as well.
What about those concurrent filers whose I-140 got approved and their I-485 is still pending ??
As per the following, only new filers will benefit from this:-
"It is thus evident that those who wish to benefit from the new concurrent I-140/I-485 adjudication may hold off filing of the concurrent I-140/I-485 package until after April 29, 2004 such that they pay the new filing fees and file the cases on or after April 30, 2004"
First there was Eb1, 2,3 categories and the approval was in the order Eb3, 2, 1. Then there was random 485 approval. Later it became pilot program to approve new guys in 90 days. Now its concurrent 140/485 adjudication. All ways of screwing/discriminating against long time waiters from 2001..... Wonder what the next parallel queue will be : fast processing for people from visa waiver countries ? Its all about USCIS looing good on election day.
USCIS is f*k BS..... What they should really do is immediate adjudication (without EVL type RFEs) for long time waiters.
Don't be so pissed yet. "concurrently" doen't mean it's going to be faster, just means they will be reviewed at the same time. I suspect that this will delay both since security check for I-485 takes time. Not sure if you don't get your I-140 approved, how can you get EAD etc? This may create a whole new nightmare for applicants.
Well, maybe I am too permistic. I do hope I am wrong.
I think, it is going be much faster than current processing days for concurrently filed application. New process will save lots of time spent on moving files from one dept to other.
