March approvals were down 26 percent, while denials decreased by 1 percent when compared to March 2002. For the first six months of fiscal year 2003, receipts increased 3 percent, while approvals decreased 26 percent compared to the same period for fiscal year 2002.
Major volumes of pending cases at the end of March 2003 include: 1,772,648 I-130 relative petitions; 1,118,087 I-485 permanent resident adjustments; 744,809 I-90 Green Card renewals/replacements; and 396,571 I-765 employment authorizations.
