Just wondering, in your opinion, how many of the questions involving "friends" actually involve friends?!

Whats there to be embarrassed of?? :D

It is valid. There are thousands of ppl getting naturalized everyday, do you see them posting? Some people have a "he knows it" friend who they ask questions from & likely they post it. As a matter of fact, in all of my family, all computer literate folks, but won't go on messageboards..instead they call me up to ask.

So it's all possible. My alternator died in my car so I asked my "friend" and he called some car talk where we found out that it was recalled in 07. So my "friend" is legit.

If the person joined the forum the same month as the question was asked, and they only have 1 or 2 or 3 posts, they're probably asking about their own self.

But if they joined the forum several months (or years) ago, and they have several other posts asking questions for themselves, when they ask about a friend it probably is their friend.
