Off-campus tutoring with F1 visa?

Hello, I am an international student with F1 visa. My friend wants me to tutor his Japanese two hours per week and he plans to pay me through his company. His company needs my ssn and will file out the W-9 form for me. Is it ok for a F1 student to do this? Thank you very much!
 
F-1 students may not work off campus if it is not authorized by the International Students Office/Immigration Office at their university. You may work of campus by obtaining a CPT (Curricular Practical Training), but it should be related to your major/program and you should first get an authorization for CPT from your school.
