October, 2001 - No RFE Yet. What Shall I Do?

Here's a summary of my I-485 application:

RD: 10/09/2001
ND: 11/24/2001
1st FP: 01/22/2002
2nd FP: 06/06/2003

It is true that I must received RFE before I get approved (due
to the length of wait period)? Are there people who don't
get RFE but get approved?
 
There are many cases where no RFE is raised.Lucky chaps.

Have you tried speaking to VSC representative,contacting your local senator, attorney speaking to VSC etc. There is nothing wrong in making a effort.

Hang in there.U will get to it soon.

My situation is similar to you, but I even do not get any notice, not 2nd FP neither. Please let me know if there is new information. Thanks

Did your message changed after your 2nd FP? If yes then probabely your security check is over and you should get your GC very soon.

I am not sure what you said is completly correct. I think the security check becasue of which we all Sep/Oct are stuck here is different from finger prints check.

I think FBI checks our FP against their FP database of criminals and sends the information to INS. However, my understanding is that there is another security check which is called as name check and if some one has a hit or some other criteria depending upon name, country etc, they ask different agencies for thorough backgroud check which is more time consuming.

Otherwise, my file was assigned to officer before my 2nd FP notice and they did not take a decision because perhaps my security check wasn't complete.

I wish we all can get through these bad times soon.

I think Oct1RD01 is right.

My online message is updated after the 2nd FP. And I contacted
FBI about security check. They told me they were only
responsible for FP check. Other government agencies are
responsible for a more comprehensive security check - That's
where we are all getting stuck!

The fact that the online message is updated after the 2nd FP
only shows that I have passed the FP check, and FBI has
sent the FP clearance result to BCIS. It does not mean that
I have passed the security check.
