so what is the cutoff date

HI Appan can u tell what is the date in that manila bulletin ..
For some reason I cannot open the page

This simply tells that they have such a weird system...
I am still holding my breadth to see the official bulletin ..
This is weird ... how can it go that behind .. are they trying to go to the very first case .. this is too much .. there has to be an explanation to it ..
we cannot travel propely .. either with EAD or with extended visa ..
cannot invest neither here or there
and on top of it pay taxes social security for a country of which we are not even the citizens . ... !@#$%%
this is too much ...
We ought to take it legally .. this is too much ..... I am completly lost at this ...

Not worth it

Last time dept. of state did something like this was in 2000 they had the E3 date as Feb 97 .. ... so after 5 years dates could only move 11 months to lock in at Jan 08 .. what a pity ...
I guess we have to wait a little longer ...
But guys the word is that who wants to hire a H1B or even an EAD person .. !!!!
.. let them exploit us further ...

i know we are all very frustrated, but i really did not expect any good in October and im kind of in a What the **** mode now.
but the good thing i see in this, the retrogression to Jan -98
sounds extremely stupid and DUMB
so there might be some attention from lawmakers to resolve the situation.
IMO the easiest way to solve the issue is 2 things

1.RECAP unused numbers from 2001-2004 which could come to around 150K+
2.Increase the EB quota for FY2006 and 2007 to 290K like what is proposed in McCain's bill.

These 2 alone can bring in more visa numbers to the pool to correct the situation. Now all these PERM approvals are in DEEP s**t bcos they cant apply for 485 as it retrogressed to Jan 98.
So as frustrating it might sound THIS will CERTAINLY trigger some Law Maker attention

AS ALWAYS pls write letters to your local law makers highlighting the following

1.Suffering Immigrants have been going through from 2001 on the Labor side
2.Backlog reduction efforts does not mean any thing as it moves the delay from Labor to the UCSIS now
3.Visa number system needs an overhaul
In 1990 under INA the 140K number was fixed, but since then the H1b program has come along, accoridng AC21 H1b quota has tripled 195,000 which brought more employment folks into the country who are turning into EB applicants. So if there is no overhaul in the system it will lead to VERY LONG EB Waiting times for PDs. The equation just does not add up.
4.H1Bs effect on Economy and some of the common exploitation of H1bs in this situation which needs law makers attention after all we contribute a lot of tax dollars and are very responsible residents of the country with almost no trouble.
please high light these and write personal letters to your
Local
Senator
Congress Man
GOvernor
President

Ihave been keeping it as my committment to write such letters once in 2 weeks to all these people, same letter with some modifications abt current situtation like today it will be the visa bulletin backing to Jan 98.

The only way out is this guys.,
I can volunteer to write a very power ful letter and you have to keep a section for your personal story.
More of same letters does not help
please be responsible here and try do this every time you receive a PAY CHECK as your future PAY CHECKS are dependent on this letters.

What the F****. It ust does not halep. I wrote emails, Sent registered letters. All I got was OK, we will get ur Case status, send us your Info (They though it was Security check Issue). I was highlighting clearly the Visa number Issue.


Well, All this will not help. Guys we need to ask AILA to take this up. We cannot depend on them too as most of them work for the employers. We need to hire a professional lobbyist. 3 monthsback we were posting mails asking everyone to send letters. We got 5 -10 responses. Very Impressive!. DOnt crib now !

There is no point sitting on our butts and cribbing. Good luck. Now let us enjoy continuing to be slaves.

Even if we can get close to 1000 EB3 cases of year 2002/2003 .. this would be enough...
See in our country it is under the table but here .. we have a well define system called lobbyist.. this is a way to go ...
 
I agree.

I suggest the need to unite this group and hire someone a while back. In this country, if you don't voice your opinion properly you are left out. If this Visa bulletin turns out to be true, we should gather money from this group and hire a decent lobbyist/ambitious lawyer to fight on our behalf. Otherwise we will be screwed for years to come and. I can't take this anymore. The government must think we are a bunch of losers

This really is disheartening (I got my PR through the little used EB4, but have so many who are screwed over by this) -- as always, a reminder that the immigration system is simply broken. And the government doesn't care one bit about us (heck, look around, apparently they don't care about their own citizens on the Gulf Coast enough!). A lobbyist is definitely an answer, and getting AILA on board, and getting the corporations to sell this as something that will be good for the US economy.

it might not be true regarding the PD date. I typed US embassy and manila in the google search and from there, I go to the official web site and I clicked visa service and from there I clicked priority date, there is no Oct. 2005 visa bulletin yet, so I am more leaning towards that the PD date is a hoax.
why they asked you to click their link and take you to that web page and it's not openable by IE ? it's fishy. I use IE through google without any problem. I believe the government official web site should be very access friendly.
it's like when you try to check your credit report, usually if you do not enter from the official website and click some quasi links, you will be screwed.
so let wait for a few days and the truth will be under the sun.
