oci status

Hi ,
I have applied FOR OCI in the month of April(First week). And unfortuantely I have not noted down the "online registration number". Plus we have not recieved any acknowledgment about receiving the Application.
Since I don't have any info except the names of the applicant, is there a way for me track the status of OCI?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the options I can think of.

i) If you have copies of the OCI application, the registration number is listed on the application
ii) Call/Email SF Embassy with your information(name, u.s passport number, indian passport number, dob etc.) and see if they can provide you with the reference number.

if the above are not feasible, you will have to monitor the OCI Cards Received page on the SF embassy page, the link is http://www.cgisf.org/oc/granted_oci.html, this page seems to be updated every Friday, you need to keep track of which cards/file numbers have been added on the page, you have cross check the name displayed on the status page for each of the file numbers. This is pretty tedious but the only option I can think of if the first two do not work out. Good Luck.

If you had mentioned your email address on the application you will get an email as soon as SFO consulate receives your OCI card. Email will contain File ack # and Online registration # in it.
