OCI application - missing passport of one parent

Dear experts -

My wife is planning to apply for OCI - she is a US citizen by birth, born in the US of Indian parents. We have a copy of her father's Indian passsport, but do not have one for her mother's because she is deceased and we cannot locate her old passport.

Does anyone think this will be a problem? If I read the rules correctly we only need to prove that one parent was an Indian citizen, but would like to clarify that on this form.

If you have birth certificate of your mothers that would have been okay.

But you are correct that one parent's detail is fine.
