I am in India on an employment visa and applied for OCI. Recently my OCI registration was granted without any issues.
There are registration requirements for visa holders. For example employemtn visa holder has to register with commissioner of police or FRRO with 14 days of arrival and visitor visa holder is required to register if their stay extends beyond 180 days. Make sure any registration requirement for you and your family is taken care of.
