OCI and TN visa

I'm a Canadian Citizen working in the US on a TN work visa. I was told by the BLS Houston Office that TN visa holders are not eligible to apply for OCI visa.

I can't find any information on this online either on the Consulate site or on BLS site - can anyone confirm if this is true of is it just that the person at the BLS office didn't know about TN visas in general ?

I think he was referring to your eligibility to apply in the US vs your country of citizenship - Canada.
