Dear all,

How does BCIS handle the issue of occupation / job function? In their rules, they often refer to same or similar occupation (for example, to valid a I-140 when the person changes his job during I-485). How close does the occupation has to be?
Some of the scientific field is new and multi-discipline, or it has multiple names in the field. Does the occupation has to be in the same SOC code?

Also the person's publications may be all in a very specific area of the field (for example characteriaing one property of a special kind of polymer) when he study for his PhD. However, he has to do R&D in chemical engineering in general when he start to work in a company. Will there be any problem when he apply for E11 or E12 with his general job function?

Thanks
