Obtaining Case Number and DOT Code

All,

Sorry if this is a silly question.
A lot of people posting here seem to know their LC case numbers, and DOT codes. I tried to ask my lawyer for the dot code assigned to my LC but they said it was something that DOL uses internally and assigns themselves, and as such there was no way to get it.

The paperwork I have only shows the receipt dates for the state and federal levels.... nothing I have has any mention of a dot code or a case number.

Also... what number can be called to get updates based on case number etc?

Anyone know how I can get these? Thanks.

Totally wrong....I am surprised that your attorney told you so.

Without case # from DOL it is hard to get much detail. If your employer/attorney is not giving you case # then call DOL AVM and using employer phone (as listed in Labor Application PART-A) try to locate your case# as well as DOT code.

Oh. Hmmmm... Is that the (415) 975-4601 number?

I just called that number and pressed 1 and then 5 for case updates. It refers me to the "Tone Talker" at (415) 975-4617... which isn't answering! What gives??

The DOL tone talker (415) 975-4617 has been down for a week now. You can try again in a couple of days.
If you have a receipt notice from DOL, then you should have a case #. It usually starts with PXXX-CA-095xxxxx. But then, you're lawyer should all about this!

DOL contacts

E-mail:LCSTATUS09@doleta.gov
AVM: (415) 975-4617

If AVM is not working, you can also use e-mail to find out about the case. You can use Tax ID of your employer or phone number of your employer or case number (at federal level). Sometimes they will give your instant response and sometime response takes 2-3 days.

Send mail to the above e-mail address and tet the subject be empty and in the body give any one of the following

Case 12345678

(Or)

Tax ID 12-3456789

(Or)

Employer Phone (999) 999-9999

I swear I'm about ready to go postal.

The AVM has been down since at least a week, and I sent email Friday to LCSTATUS09@doleta.gov requesting case status.

Its bad enough that these lobotomized half wits take over a year and a half to get to this point, which is still a hell of a long way from actually processing my labor cert, but now their proposed means of checking my case just do not work!

AARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
