Oath question!

I got a letter for my citizenship oath next week. I am out of country for 6 months.

Can I send a proxy/such as power of attorney to take oath on my behalf?

Can my twin brother (looks like me, but little skinny than me) go and take the oath? (He is already a citizen)

Do they check the person closely or just hand out the citizenship cards?

If I don't do anything and miss the oath, what are the consiquences?

Please advice.

Here are the answers to your questions:

1) You cannot send a proxy/attorney for oath. You have to appear in person.
2) See the first question - it will be illegal to send your twin sibbling to take the oath.
3) They do check your passport/PR card to make sure that you are the same person before they allow you inside the hall to take the oath.
4) They say that if you miss the oath, your file will be closed and you will have to reapply. (may be your case goes to the judge and you have to convince him)

Thank you so much

Thank you so much for the advice. I am just wondering how can I get around this tight corner.

Do you think if I write or call them, they will reschedule my oath for a later time?
