Oath letter returned later

Hi,

I got my passport (within 4 weeks from the oath ceremony) but the original oath letter was not in it. I send in the original at the Oath ceremony.

Called passport service 1-800. They said, it will come separately. Just wanted to check if this is the general norm these days. The service rep said they were doing this recently (from 2009).

Yes. Passport book, passport card, and certificate are sent all seperately from each other.

It's called "Naturalization Certificate". Oath letter is the letter asking you to come and take oath to complete your citizenship process.

Naturalization letter come seperately in the mail for security reasons. They don't want both the passport & citizenship certificate to fall into wrong hands or lost in the mail. That's why.
