The oath ceremony was quick.

Had the appt. at 8:30 AM and checked-in with the court personnel who collected my oath letter and GC.

Waited for the judge for 20 minutes and when the judge arrived started with oath of citizenship and pledge of alligience. Later each individual was called and the judge handed over the Nat. Certificate.

We were out of the court building by 10:00 AM.

Went to the post office and applied for the passport.

Later in the day my wife's interview letter we were waiting for the last 3-4 months finally arrived(My wife had her finger prints in August 2006).

Good luck to all those who are waiting and my advice is please have patience with your case. It will the see the light of the day. I know it is easier said than done!

Fingerprint and civics/history test.

Hello MasterUSA,

Thanks for the information. Had couple of questions?

(a) Can you tell if Albany site is asking folks to take civics/history test during fingerprint appointment? Did you take the new or the old test?

(b) Can we travel outside US right after fingerprint appointment?

Regards,
Carnegiefox

I don't know as of today. But when I had my finger prints back in October 2006 Albany DO did not ask to take civics/history test during FP appointment.

I took the old test. The new test was not in place when I was interviewed in December 2006.

Yes you can. Just make sure to mention your trip during the interview.
