Any help, what happens in Oath ceremony? I meant what is process, how long does it take overall? Can we apply for passport at the same time? How long does it take to get passport?
Basically a big group of people take the oath. The ceremony is really a formality after which you get the Naturalization certificate which you would use to apply for your passport. Most locations have a facility where you can apply for a Passport right after the ceremony after you get the certificate. But you can also go to a local PostOffice and do the same. Normal processing takes anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks. Expedited service (more fees) takes 2 weeks.
