Hi everyone,

i just checked the status of my application online and it said:

On November 2, 2011, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que. We will send a notice when the ceremony is scheduled. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Naturalization Applicants: you will receive your certificate at your oath ceremony. You can expect to be scheduled for an oath ceremony within 45 days of receiving your recommended approval. Many offices schedule approved applicants for the oath ceremony on the same day as the day of the interview. Please check the local office profile page on our website to determine if the office where you will be interviewed schedules same day oath ceremonies.id

My question is: should i have received a letter from the USCIS that would state that my application was approved? today is 14 November and i have not received anything in the mail so far. Or is it normal just receive the notification on scheduled oath ceremony?

thanks a lot

No, you won't get a letter saying that your application was approved. Instead, at some point you will receive an appointment letter for the naturalization oath ceremony (the online status will probably also change at that time to indicate that the oath ceremony has been scheduled for you). The time from being placed in the queue for the oath ceremony to actually being scheduled for the oath and receiving the oath appointment letter varies significantly depending on where you live and how frequently the oath ceremonies are conducted at your DO. It could be faster than the 45 days that your online status message says, but it could also be a bit longer.
