O1 visa stamping

Hi friends,

Greetings.

I am presently on H1B and filed petition for O-1 visa. Where should I get my visa stamped after approval? As this is change of status, is it possible to get stamped in Tijuana-Mexico? Or should I go to India? I am presently in US.

My dependents are also with me, presently on H4. I didnot file petition for them. Can I take them to Mexico for stamping their O3 visa?

let me tell u clearly that u need not stamp O1 visa in your passport unless u travel outside US. As u r already in H1B, u need not go outside US for stamping O visa. If u were in J1 visa without a waiver certificate, yes u have to go outside US and stamp the visa. But remember that whenever u go outside US, to return back u have to stamp the O1 visa in your passport. For that u may have to go to the US consulate in the country you are travelling and stamp the visa. Regarding your dependants also u need not stamp the visa in their passport if you are staying back in US.
