O1 visa for faculty position

Hi all,

I am a J1 visa holder about to graduate in the next two months. I am applying for tenure-track faculty positions. I am planning to ask my future employer (university) to apply for a O1 visa on my behalf. However I am not very sure because O1 is "temporary" while a tenure-track means long-term commitment. I will highly appreciate any tips and guidance.

No Title

O-visa is given initially for 3 years and can be extended with 1 year increase without limits. It can fit a tenure-track.
