Hi,
I just got my O1 approved. I came on J1 in 1996 for 2 months. Then I went back to India for 6 months and came back on H1 on Jan 1997. Then my employer filed for my Green card. My H1 expired on Dec 2001. Since I was already on EAD by then there was no further extension of H1. Recently INS came back with RFE on my I-485 pending AOS application asking for my J1 waiver latest by June 27, 2002. I dont have it yet. That is why my employer filed O1 immediately with Premium processing and got approval just today. Now my employer is going to withdraw my I-485 application until J1 waiver is ready. In this situation is it necessary to get a VISA stamp right now ( before 27th June ) even though I am not planning to go outside USA at present? I will appreciate your advice on this.
