NYC PCC Issue

I have sent my PCC request to NYC consulate on7/13/04. No word from them even after 60 days. No one responds to Telephone 212 xxx -0606 /0667. Does anyone has other number to call ? Do they want everyone to visit NYC consulate? Please share your experience here..thanks,

My experience was with SFO. But getting through to anyone at the consulates is always difficult.

Going by what you said they should be ready to issue your PCC. If you have
sent your original Passport, then somehow try to get them on phone and
ask for the status.

If you have not sent the original Passport at the time of application, if it
is not too difficult, then you may want to make that 1 day trip to NY.

hi,
I got my PCC from NY consulate.
actually i send my passport along with PCC application form.
i waited for 45 days then i call them they send me my passport and PCC.
same number i called keep trying that number.that number is always busy.

I Went to the Indian Consulate after 45 days it was very very crowded.
I called them before I went and they told me that if they didn't recieve any communication from India the Consular general will intervene and sign the document for you.
 
so did they tell you to come on a particular day? did you get your PCC on the day you went??

Got it..

Yesterday i visited NYC consulate and enquired about my request. I was told that the fax number for passort office which issued my passport is changed. They could not fax my request to India for 2 Months to get clarification. What a bullshit excuse for not issuing clearance ? This is typical Government employee answer.

Finally i showed them my CP interview call latter and raised little voice.

They asked me come at 4 pm to collect my passport.

At 5pm, they gave me my passport.
 
If you do not mind sharing, which place/city issued your passport in India?? Just want to make sure that they would not give me the same excuse and also make sure mine was not issued by the same place.
