Just want to share my AP experience in NYC with you all...
Since the 485 case got transfered to NYC thus applied AP in NYC in Sep of 2002. Got a notice letter one month later to ask me to bring the following items to NYC office:
1. the notice letter
2. 485 filing receipt
3. passport
4. previous INS-issued document
Showed up on the date specified in the letter around 8:30am (a few days ago). The security guard collected the notice letter and asked me to have a seat...Wait for about 2 hours and got called to the window....Shows the 485 filing recept and got my AP.... There were no questions asked at all.....
Ask about the status of my 485 status, the guy at the windows told me to go down to 3rd, room 120 for information on 485 case. Went down to room 120, 3rd floor and take a number...However, there were lot of people waiting before me... At least, my number is very far away from the number they were serving...Since I gotta come back to the office, thus, I did NOT wait and thus, did NOT get a chance to ask for my 485 status in person in NYC local office.
The NYC local office opens at 7:30am in the morning...One of these days, I will make it there to ask them about my 485 status....
Have anyone been to the room 120 on 3rd floor in 26 Federal Plaza to inquire about their 485 status after their case got transfered to there?
