NYC Federal Plaza question (Query11, do you know)

Hi Folks,

I am scheduled to go in to interview the week of 8/21.

Now, the issue is that I am planning on a small vacation (involving international travel and therefore my passport), leaving the day after my interview.

How does NYC/Federal Plaza usually work? Is the Oath date the same day? Is it usually 2 weeks later? Less? More?

*Any* information of your experience would be very much appreciated.

Also -- do they hand you a date while you are there or do they mail it afterwards? If the former, can you request a date that is, say, a couple of week out?
 
My wife completed her Interview/Oath in Federal Plaza. Her interview was on 24th July, and an Oath letter was given 45 min or so after the interview. The Oath was on 28th July in Federal Plaza location.
