NYC Federal Plaza - interview for Wed-10-Feb - CANCELLED due to weather

I wanted to let you know that I just received a phone call from USCIS (or whatever they call themselves these days).

My interview was scheduled for Wed-10-Feb at 8am and due to the weather (the NE has had some serious snow in the last few days and tomorrow Wed is going to be pretty bad). Anyway, the interview has been cancelled and has been rescheduled for 17-Mar-2010. The lady was very polite, and she said that it is highly likely that their offices are going to be shut tomorrow so she is calling everyone with interviews for 10-Feb and rescheduling them. In essence, they are not planning to be open tomorrow.

I told her that I may be travelling around 17-Mar-2010 and if there was any way I could get an interview date earlier, she stated that it probably would not be possible, but if I wanted to reschedule then I would have to follow instructions on the interview letter.

She also said that a new interview letter will be mailed out in the next day or so and that I should expect that.

If anyone else is in the same boat then definitely acknowledge this post. It will also be interesting to see what the rescheduled interview letter says...and we can all track and compare dates.

I also have an interview scheduled at 1pm tomorrow (Feb 10th) at the same location. Got a voice mail that it has been cancelled and rescheduled for March 17th. However the messages didn't say what time. I guess I'll receive a letter as you indicated. Talked to my lawyer. He said if I don't receive a new letter, go with the original time on the 17th.

Thanks for sharing your experience. At least you talked to a real person. I'll let you know once I receive the reschedule letter.

hi i m in the same situation i had interview today at garden city new york and i got a phone call as well and my rescheduled time is march 18th...

i [ve a question ..i ve to travel as well and i wont be able to make it to my march 18th appointment.....so i want to no if i ll reschedule it how much more time i m gone a get ? plus is it going to affect my naturalization process?acytually i ve to go out of country soon if i stay there till my interview appointment is it going to affect my naturalization process?
