Hi everyone,

Since I'd rather not waste $350 for AP and EAD, could you tell me what the average timeline for AOS in NY DO is?
I know it used to be the longest in the country but recently with the new opening of Garden City SubDO it looks like the wait went down to an average of 6 months.
I'm on a regular H-1B (visa expires in 05/07 and I-797 valid till 11/08) and I don't plan on looking for a new job until the Christmas bonus.

Also, should I apply for AP/EAD after I submitted my AOS application, how long would it take to get them?

Check the AOS timeline thread it the best resource and has all the timelines for different people. Yes you are correct to assume that the time for getting the interview is 6 months but getting the physical green card is anywhere from 7 months to 2 years
