Hi,
A friend of mine filed I-130/AOS for his spouse in March 2005 with the NBC. They just received notice that their interview will be in February 2006 in Garden City even though they live in New York. Anyone else with a similar situation? WOW, that seems fast!

I am in the same boat ...

Dear Amherst22,

I posted this message on the AOS Interview Timeline board. But it looked inadequate to that board (supposed to be timeline only :) ). So, I'm posting here.

Can you share your experience if you don't mind?
I'm curious about; whether you received the interview letter from your DO or Missouri Office ; also, whether there's any update on the case status of uscis.gov.
I wish you good luck!!

Hi Creamcheese:

I received my letter from Missouri Office. And yes, there is NO update on my case status at the BCIS website, strange isn't it?

I reside in Long Island and sent out all my paperwork in April to NBC. As per my timeline, I received my inteview letter last saturday, I was very ecstatic when I read the letter but at the same time I am puzzled as to how come some of my friends who applied back in 2002 from NY are still waiting to hear about their interview? Interestingly, this INS office is a few miles from where I reside and all these past years used to wonder, whenever I passed that builiding, as to what INS work happened here!! From what I gather, this office is primarily for Citizenship related applications. From the board, I see some more people getting AOS interviews from this office, who applied in the last 7-8 months. I guess, this might be a new method for closing the backlong in NY. What is your situation like?
Thanks for the wishes :) Good luck to you.

Hi Amherst22,

Thank you so much for your reply.
I'm still looking forward to any update. I wonder it can affect on the interview schedule where I reside. If immigration officers are so kind that they don't want me to trip to Garden City since I'm in Manhattan, I will have to wait until there's any available schedule in Manhattan. Although I don't mind going to Garden City...:)
Again, I wish you good luck!

I am not sure as to how the interview is being set up by BCIS but looks like being in Manhattan might not make a difference since I read someone from Manhattan being sent to Garden City for an interview but then I know someone who lives in westchester and is waiting for an interview since late 2003. Its all very puzzling, I guess I should consider myself fortunate to have received a call rather than trying to investigate the GC timeline process :)
