Hi,

My case reached NVC on 10 march, case was created on 13 march, I sent a mail requesting change of address which was received on 13 march.
I had also sent fax about the same on 14 March.

Today I called NVC, they say visa receipt was sent to attorney's address on 17 March.

What to do, I stuck. Do not know what to do?

Please help.

Just call them and first confirm that what address they have now for contact address....

If they dont have your address then you first have to get that done.

If it has been changed to your address then request them to send a copy of everything to you again.

They do that but the only thing is a few days delay.... thats it.

GoodLuck.....

Don't worry. All you need to do is call NVC and explain to them the situation and they'll resend the details to you. I had a similiar experience.

address change and Attorney Representation

If you have mentioned, that you don't want the correspondance to go to Attorney, then they will send the Docs to your address.

Though, You can send a Fax to NVC about your change of address with your case number, they will send you an acknowledgement that the Address change has been updated.

I changed my address like that , but my Attorney is representing me, So My p3 was sent to the Attorney.

ACL - Agent of Choice Letter.....

Oops... didn't I mention about ACL (Agent of Choice Letter)????? I am sorry.

Actually "address change" is one thing. And receiving communications from NVC is another thing. While address change is intimating NVC about your whereabouts, it doesn't entitle *YOU* to receive communications (like form IV fee bill, Packet 3 documents etc ), as all of these goes only to your attorney (assuming he was designated as the agent of choice at the begnining)

If you need to do the second one, then what follows makes sense.

In order for NVC to send communication to *you* instead of the attorney, you'll have to fill in an ACL (which they'll send in once when you call NVC and mention that you want your attorney to be taken of the case).

In the ACL, you could designate anyone (including but not limited to you friend, family, company, etc) to receive the letters from NVC on your behalf. You could also give your address.

I think it's called ACL is called DS 3032 form.

Hope this helps.

Ganesh.

Communication with NVC little mess

Hi bvganesh,

Letter from our HR was sent stating clearly that attorney to be removed. The letter was fedex as well as faxed.

Last monday when I called NVC, they said fee request was sent to your attorney.

I called them again on friday, then they told that attortney was removed and communication is sent to your current home address.

There is no other option to wait for another week. Please suggest.

As far as ACL or DS 3032 form. It was told that NVC takes 10 days to send this form.
I believe that this form will come from NVC and sent back to them with new address.

hi abihitesh

Hi abihitesh,

Don't worry. If the NVC says that they are sending the communication to your home address then it means that they have received the notice and that they have effected the changes.

If I were you, I would check with NVC as to what communication is being sent? Is it DS-3032 forms? or is it form IV bill?

If it's IV bill, you have nothing to worry. It means everything has been taken care of. If it's form DS-3032, then you have no choice other than waiting.

Usually DS-3032 is expected by NVC *IF* the beneficiary (in this case its YOU) indicated the removal of the attorney. If the petitioner (in this case your company) indicated the removal, then I guess DS-3032 *MAY NOT* be required. Experienced CPers can clarify this.

So, don't worry.

Cheers,
Ganesh.

Clarifications

Hi BVGanesh,

The letter about removel of attorny was sent by my company. The same was faxed to them. But the new addesss mentioned was company's address and not my home address. But as per the last communication on friday, they say that they have sent visa reciept request to my home address on 17 March. I am just wondering that does how much time does it take to receive visa fees request? what are other options I should try or just wait. If to wait for how long?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Regards

Even though your company mentions that the documents be sent to your address, NVC would always send the document to either the ATTORNEY (if there is one for this case) or send it to the petitioner (which in this case is your company).

So, it's correct that the new address mentioned is your company's address

Don't bother. Just wait until the form IV bill arrives to your office address. Get that from your office and send it NVC St. Louis along with the fee bill.

Usually your company should get the IV bill in about 2-3 weeks.

Meanwhile, if you prefer to receive all future communications to your home address, call up NVC and ask them to send ACL (Agent of Choice Letter) forms so that you could get your communications to your home address. Do this after you receive the form IV bill at your office addres. (otherwise, NVC might stall the issuance of IV bill and wait for your response on ACL)

As long as your ok with your company receiving the documents it should be fine. If you live close by to your office or if your office handles documents efficiently, don't bother to give an address change. I have given my office address as the place to receive all the communications form NVC. That's suits me as sometimes the documents are delivered faster to an 'office' address than the residential address.

If you are comfortable with your company receiving all the documents, don't worry and you don't need to do anything further. I receive all my communication at my office. Personally I find that to be an ideal choice.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Ganesh.
