Hi there, my sister, US Citizen submitted my green application 15 years ago and we finally got approved by NVC to finish submitting paper work, sponsors financial papers, photos and eventually appointment.
I have a girlfriend ( together for 7years) which I want to marry, but wasn't sure if I should do it now or after I get my green card. (dont want it to look suspicious)
How long could it take to file her petition after I get my green card? and if I marry now, would that look bad on my app

Thanks for any info

If you guys marry now or before you enter the US, she can immigrate as your derivative beneficiary, without you needing to petition her separately. However, your sister would need to include her in the Affidavit of Support. If you guys marry after you immigrate, and you petition her separately after marrying, it might take 2+ years for her to be able to immigrate, and you would have to fill out an Affidavit of Support. I don't think it would look suspicious if you guys are really intending on marrying.

Thank you for this information.
And just to confirm, if I marry after the GC, she would have to wait outside the US (were we both are now) for the whole process?
thanks again

Pretty much. She should not enter the US on most types of nonimmigrant visas with preconceived intent to do Adjustment of Status (the process of getting a green card from within the US) during that stay. She can still visit the US with the intention of returning abroad to do Consular Processing, if she can convince the officer that she will leave.
