Number of Marriages?

Hello,

I will be sending my N-400 form in a few days, and I have a few questions.

1. Part 8. Question A: "How many times have you been married (including annulled marriages)?"
I am currently married, and this is my only marriage. I am not sure if they are asking how many times I have been married including my current marriage or excluding my current marriage. Should I put here 1 or 0.

2. Part 8. Question G: "How many times has your current spouse been married (including annulled marriages)?"
Same for my wife, this is her first and only marriage. Again, are they asking how many times she has been married including the one we are in now, or excluding the one we are in now? Should I put 1 or 0.

answer how many times you were married - 1
how many times your spouse was married - 1

I am married once and i put 1 in both places. Hope it helps.

This is funny. At my interview I got asked "How many times my wife had been married", since I was her first. I just said none (thinking married before me). He then asked again how many times, and I said none. He then looked at me and said "ok one more time, are you married?" I said "yes", he then said "is your wife married". "yes". "Then how many times has she been married".

I started laughing and so did the IO when I finally realized the answer was 1 time not 0 times...

They should change the wording to "How many times has your current spouse PREVIOUSLY been married (including annulled marriages)?"

The easy way to answer this question is to go to your spouse and say "Honey, how many times have I been married". Mine would answer "1" and then get very curious.
