Hi,
Can anyone please tell me , if the number of days spent in the USA AFTER the filing of the N400 count towards total number of resident days as per the residency requirements for citizenship?

No, each of the requirements has to be met on each of 3 days - filing, interview, oath.

Assuming there are a few days short on filing , but has been fulfilled at time of fingerprint , and therefore , the interview, what is the scene?

You can almost be assured that if your application was dated/sent even a couple of days before your 5 years or 3 years period (minus 90 days), it will be returned back to you. It generally takes them 5 weeks or so before they determine that and deny it. Someone has to be really lucky to make it through without USCIS noticing it.
