Number of Applications

Does the number of Applications in INS on a Particular Date delay in overall processing.
I noticed that on Particular date (say september 13th) there are more than 150 applications.
Or how does it work monthly applications. Can somebody tell me what order does INS Process applications.
 
sorry..actually there are thousands of applications on this particular date.I dont know mannn how this work. Still confused.....
