I have written on this forum before regarding an nseers issue.
I entered the United States to study at a community college from 2008 through 2010. During my first two trips back home i did not report a departure interview as I was unaware that I had to. I remember being registered upon arrival with a fin number but was not aware that I had to do a departure interview. Upon my second arrival i was taken to secondary immigration and yelled at for not doing my departure interview. Eventually after apologizing I was let in with the caveat that I would have to do the departure interview or be deported next time. I have done the departure interview during the last two times I have left the country. Recently I have been admitted to another university and thus had to apply for another f1 visa. Initially i was worried that i would not be granted a F1 visa and was worried that my previous nseer violation would mean that i would be denied which was not the case. Once i received my F1 visa I did not put much thought on the issue. Upon researching this nssers issue further I believe when I did not do the departure interview I was considered out of status. This fact was not disclosed during the application of my f1 visa because i was unaware that i was out of status.(one of the questions asked if i was ever out of status which i answered no ) Basically my question is will this cause problems for me during port of entry ?. Any input would help especially if others have had issues similar to this.
