NSC sucks

Just got my friend call last night and his case was approved a couple of weeks ago, his ND of I-485 (VSC) is Jan of 2003. Also checked I-485 of VSC and find some people with ND of May-June of 2003 got approved.

What the hell of NSC is doing now?

I remember that not long time ago, the processing time of TSC of I-485 was about 1.5-2 years late than NSC, and now they're ahead of NSC a lot.

NSC really sucks.

I guess we are trying to understand/explain/describe something that has no logic. I was long time observer of the forum, trying to get any clue about the status of application. Few depressive conclusions were derived, like EB1 is the slowest type of application. NSC is the slowest one. The two month from FP rule is not the law, but just random matching. EAD can’t trigger application approval; it is just a way to make illusion of the life of the status message by changing LUD. Overall, the process of approval is completely random in some date limits. We need to remember, that the clerk who working with the case, working with hundreds of similar cases. There is a just folder with the paper for the clerk, there is no human behind it. Clerk is not caring about hopes and expectations, about our and our closest ones problems and lost. We are nothing; we are just the dust on the papers in that folder. It is doesn’t matter, how many times we will say s***t, opening the status page again and again, we just create only waives in air, that can’t disturb this dust.

After writing my first response, I went back to www.immigrationwatch.com and wanted to see how is NSC doing so far, and here is what I came up with:

Total cases: 162,045
Total approved: 52,842
Ratio: 32.6%

so just about 1/3 of all cases were approved, about another 1/3 are in different stages of processing, and the remaining are waiting to be processed.

I still have hopes for them, it's been just a little bove half of the year, and they have already touched 2/3 of the files. Add to that the fact that by end of September they are supposed to finish cases that are 20 months of age and older, they should be able to complete all cases up to 1/31/2002 (which they have already) and continue working on the rest (which, again, they have already). I wish it was different, but I agree with GM, I still have hopes.

best,

All cases upto 1/31/2002? Website says so, but that is not the fact. I am ND 11/16/2001, RD 11/30/2001. Still waiting...

Santo,

i feel for you. I was basically following the official processing times provided by USCIS. That's what the official website is saying. Have you contacted them? their official response is "call us 30 days after your processing day has passed".

gvaknin:

Have been calling them since April 04....Same standard reply " Please give the officer some time to process your case". Wrote to one Senator, no use, am now trying with another one 2 weeks ago, atleast they cared to call us back and said will update in another 2 1/2 weeks. Anyone familiar with how a Senator/ Representative could help? I mean, what exactly do they do?

Here is an explanation of a female CIS rep on why there's cases with later date than mine processed before me. This was one of the many times I called and maybe this is just an explanation with very little truth. This is my understanding and I'm not responsible for what I say:

Cases are sent for approvals in physical boxes, as the ones with earlier date are on the bottom. This is after they are sorted/ordered in a manner of last updated on top. All this means to me that if there's cases on top of mine with a lot of RFEs or FP, EAD etc requests, than I have to wait until they're all cleared. This is where the 2 months after FP rule may apply (not entirely convinced though). Also, to me, they wouldn't even know that there's a case on the bottom of the box that is with a RD of Jan 02, since it hasn't been touched in a while, thus hasn't been moved up. The box may be labeled for example EB2/something/Jan2002-Mar2002. An inquiry should trigger the processing, if the inquiry itself is not processed in the same "box ordering" system. In a sense as "unitednations" mentioned it is a FIFO case.

I-140 AD 12/23/2001
I-485 RD 01/24/2002
FP1 03/23/2002
FP2 11/01/2003
3 EAD (don't have the dates) approved
No RFE
Tracker messages last updated 01/21/2003 regarding the FP1
No messages changes regarding FP2
No notification that case was transferred to local office
