NSC still processing pending cases - I got RFE notice by email

I just would like to share the info that NSC is still processing pending 485 cases. Today morning, I received an email requesting additional evidence.

I spoke with an IO at NSC regarding the issue and she just reitererated
the same message as in online.

When I called a two weeks ago, one IO told me that all checks are cleared
and it is in staging area waiting to be assigned to an officer. The IO didn't
tell me whether a visa number is assigned on my case.

The other IO I contacted informed me that my file is under extended review.
I think that's why I received RFE on my pending 485.

I am not sure whether a visa number is assigned on my case and
how long would it take until approval once they receive my response.

Did anybody have a similar experience recently?

Name check initiated (10/11/06) cleared 6/7/07
LUDs: 10/5/06 (Notice), 11/16/06, 2/19/07 (140 LUD), 6/30/07 (spouse),

Unless the visa number is assigned, they will not be taking up your file for adjudication processing. Once you reply to the RFE to their satisfaction, you will be done forever.

Please post the details of the RFE once you receive so that everyone knows what kind of RFEs are coming ahead.

Thanks Sail1 for the reply.

I also believe that a visa number is assigned to my case since my namecheck
is cleared in 6/7/07 and got LUDs during the 6/28 weekend when large number of cases were assigned for visas.
I will keep my fingers crossed and will post what the RFE is about once my
attorney receives it. BTW, my 485 is EB2-NIW case and 140 was approved
on 8/21/06.
